Sophie De Smet Artist Profile

Based in the North East of England Sophie is a multidisciplinary analog artist specialising in collage and line work drawing. Collage material is sourced through vintage print media predominantly from the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and 80’s and repurposed into surrealistic and magical realism. Her work explores themes of nature, identity, environmentalism social commentary and gender roles viewed through the lens of escapism. 

Diagnosed with ADHD later in life, the process of creating has provided an avenue for meditative practice, self expression, improve focus and emotional regulation.
